Indonesia Herald-Jakarta. Commissioner General Tito Karnavian who now serves as Head of the National Counter Terrorism Agency (BNPT) was selected as a single candidate by President Jokowi to become the next Indonesian National Police chief.

Tito's name has also been submitted to the Indonesian Parliament Chairman.

"President's letter related to the new police chief candidates has been submitted to the House of Representatives leadership. We plan to read the letter to the house members in the plenary session tomorrow, " said Chairman of Commission III Bambang Soesatyo told AFP on Wednesday ( 06/15/2016 ).

According to Bambang, having read the letter in the plenary session, the members of the house will discuss the next process in a plenary meeting of the commission III to determine the schedule for Tito's fit and proper test.

"We expect that before Eid al-Fitr holidays, we will have completed the discussion and made a decision in a plenary meeting dated on June 28, 2016, " he stated. (detik/IH-0615).
